The solid modelling computer - aided design (CAD) and computer - aided engineering (CAE) computer program that functions on Microsoft Windows is referred as Solid Works.Dassault Systemes publish the Solid Works.

As of 2013 over two million engineers and designers at more than 165,000 industries were using solid works according to the publisher. Fiscal year 2011-12 revenue for  Solid Works totalled $483 million according to the industry.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate Jon Hischtick was found Solid Works in December 1993.For  setting up the company Hirschtick used $1 million as a member of MIT Blackjack team.Hirschtick recruit a team of engineers with the goal of building 3DCAD software that was easy -to -use  ,available on Windows desktop and can be easily afford based in United States,Waltham. In November 1995 , Massachusetts , Solid Works released its first product Solid Works 95 All over the world  one million licenses of Solid Works are sold by DS Solidworks corp The worlds most popular CAD software is Solid works according to sheffield telegraph
