UNIX

In 1970 at the Bell Labs research center by Ken Thompson , Dennis Ritchie and others developed a multitasking , multiuser computer operating systems that acquire from actual AT&T UNIX is referred as UNIX. 

From  1970s UNIX was licensed outside parties,before that it was plighted for use inside the Bell System,leading to a array of both academic and commercial   modification of Unix from dealers  like the  University of California, Berkeley (BSD),Microsoft (Xenix) and Sun Microsystems (Solaris).In 1990 AT&T finally sold its rights to Novell in Unix which again sold in 1995  to the Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) ,but the UNIX trademark passed to the organization standards corporation ,The Open Group , which allow the use of brand for certified operating systems manageable with the Single UNIX Specification (SUS).The Unix version with the largest base  as of 2014 is Apple's macOS.  

Unix was actually allude to be adapted platform for programmers for developing software to be run on it and on other systems,in preference for non programmers users. As the operating system started extensive in intellectual circles,as users added their own tools to the system and shared them with colleagues as the system grew larger.

Unix was designed to be easily carried ,multitasking and multi - user in a time sharing composition.Unix system are indicated by various concepts :the use of plain text for storing data ;a hierarchical file system;and assertive types of inter process communication (IPC) as files."Unix philosophy" is the collection of concepts related to Unix.The Unix Programming Environment as "the idea that the power of a system comes more from the relationships among programs than the programs themselves according to Brian Kernighan and Rob Pike

Since 1980s users began seeing as a implied universal operating system,which is suitable for all sizes of computers. . The essential component in the development of the internet are Unix environment and the client server programmodel.  AT&T developed both Unix and C programming and allotted to government and intellectual institutions which were led to both being ported to  a variety of machine generations than any other operating system.

Unix was  initially formatting, but the usage of UNIX remains widespread because it was once type in small caps (Unix).Many of the Operating's Systems prior and contemporaries used all uppercase lettering ,so  many people wrote names in uppercase due to force of habit.It is not an wordplay.

In different countries trademark can be enrolled by different entities and in some countries trademark laws allow the corresponding trademark name to be composed by two different entities if each entity uses the trademark in easily distinguishable group. The conclusion is that Unix has been used as a brand name for products composed of book shelves,ink pens, hair driers and food containers.

The multi brands of Unix and Unix - like system  are used as a plural form of Unix. Conventional Unixes is the most common , but Unices treating Unix as a Latin noun of the third decline , is also  popular.
